ACS History

ACS was formed in the year 2000 by Richard Shaw and Fred Woodley to promote Kue-Ken crusher parts both at home and abroad. They were almost immediately joined by Craig Garwood, who had spent many years working for Kue-Ken/Brown Lenox.

The Kue-Ken range of crushers manufactured by Brown Lenox & Co was recognised by users as the Rolls Royce of the crusher world. Due to their quality of build they have a life expectancy of twenty years, subject to continued maintenance and regular repairs. There are thousands of Kue-Ken crushers still operating and requiring spare parts worldwide.

The primary objective of ACS is to provide a first-class service for the procurement and supply of crusher spares, specifically targeting existing crusher users and using a competitive pricing strategy.

In 2001, ACS started manufacturing Grizzly and Pan Feeders to suit a range of machines, using a proven design. We have supplied a number of these units to a variety of customers, including a major crusher manufacturer. For further information about our Grizzly and Pan Feeder click here.

In February 2002, Peter Youlton joined ACS as Business Development Director with the specific task of introducing new manufacturers to our product line-up and ACS now supplies parts for Parker, Extec, Hartl and Pegson crushing machines as well as Kue-Ken.

At the same time we moved into larger premises, locating our parts warehouse in the West Midlands within easy reach of a number of airports and major motorways. The ACS sales office is located in Cardiff, South Wales close to a number of major UK customers. A large proportion of our revenue comes from overseas customers based across five continents. To find out why, click on 'The Difference' on the menu bar.

During 2002, a comprehensive customer database was compiled, which has enabled the company to issue a number of mailshots highlighting the additional manufacturers whom ACS is now representing, as well as re-emphasising the first-class customer service we offer (which is 24 hours, 7 days a week). We now also have a new company brochure illustrating the range of products we offer. If you wish to receive a copy, please fill in a Sales Enquiry Form by clicking on any ACS logo.

In July 2003, ACS moved again into new, larger premises which have been designed to our specification. The 12,000 sq. ft. modern warehouse has all the major facilities, including an integral purpose-built ramp for loading and unloading containers, and will allow ACS to carry an even greater inventory of spare parts. The two-storey, state-of-the-art offices allow for further expansion and will house the new computer system which will link the Birmingham Sales Office to our Cardiff operation giving instant on-line communication.

As a result of these changes, we have now increased our sales force, making it one of the largest and most aggressive in our industry.
